There are planned following social events during the school:
1. Welcome and registration (Sunday, September 22nd, 18:00-20:00)
Welcome meeting at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Grudziadzka 5, 87-100 Torun (atrium of the Center of Quantum Optics), combined with registration of participants.
2. Excursion to the Torun Centre for Astronomy and barbecue (Wednesday, September 25th, 16:00-20:30)
Excursion to the Torun Centre for Astronomy, Piwnice near Torun, sightseeing of the astronomical observatory with the 90-cm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, the historic Drapher astrograph and the 32-m RT-4 radiotelescope. A group photo is planned. The visit will end with barbecue. The taxi leaves the parking lot in front of the Institute of Physics at 16:15. The costs are covered by the Organizers.
3. Guide excursion to Torun Old Town (Saturday, September 28th, between 9:00-12:00)
Guide excursion to Torun Old Town and the Nicolaus Copernicus’ House. In the Copernicus' House there will be a 20-minutes movie Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń. The film will take the audience back to the time when Nicolaus Copernicus and his family lived in Toruń. The viewers will also be able to see the places where the great astronomer lived and learn about the history of his family.
This event is optional, depending on the number of willing people. Please indicate your interest at the registration desk. The tickets are covered by the Organizers. The exact time of the excursion will be announced during the school.
